C. Michael Boatfield
Senior Pastor

Michael was called to preach at age 32 and has pastored for 22 years. He graduated from high school in May 1975 and  attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been in full-time ministry since 1994. Michael is active with the high school sports programs and enjoys being their team chaplain. Michael has a passion for working with student and children’s ministries. Michael is originally from Centre Alabama and started his ministry with the Georgia Baptist Children Home in Palmetto, Ga. Michael has been privileged to preach revivals in several places across our nations.  He believes that revival in the church must come before we will see many people come to Christ. 

Pastor Mike and his wife, Lacy, have been married since October 1974. Lacy is a pediatric RN with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Their family includes their son Shannon and daughter-in-law, Monique, daughter Lindy and son-in-law, Tim, and grandchildren Caleb, Christian, Halee and Haydon.

Devin Reid
Short-Term Interim Minister of Music

T. Devin Reid is currently an active musician and educator throughout the southeast. A native of Fayetteville, NC, Mr. Reid holds a Master of Music in Wind Band Conducting from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

In 2018 Mr. Reid accepted the position as Assistant Director of Bands at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA.  In this capacity he co-teaches the Panther Marching Band, conducts the Basketball Band, conducts the University Concert Band, teaches undergraduate and graduate level conducting courses, and supervises student teachers in the field among other duties and courses. As a performer, Mr. Reid is an actively sought-after musician. He was the percussionist for the popular brass quintet and Delos recording artist “Da Capo Brass”. Their debut album “From The Beginning” stormed the iTunes classical charts at #8 in January 2012. He has also been a member of the regionally acclaimed bluegrass band, “T.R. and the Boys” as baritone vocalist and mandolin player. They have three releases, and their most recent album; “Lonesome” features one of his original songs as the title track. 

Mr. Reid is happily married to his beautiful wife Amy and they reside in Powder Springs, GA with their daughter Katelynn and son Ethan.

Scott Patrick
Children’s Pastor

Scott has a passion to serve the Lord by ministering to families through the local church.  He has served in both bi-vocation and fulltime ministry as Youth Minister, Minister of Education, and Children’s and Preschool Pastor. Scott is a graduate of West Georgia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.  He has a Master of Divinity with Specialization in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  Scott is married to Ann, who is an eighth-grade math and science teacher at Austin Middle School in Paulding County.  Scott and Ann have three daughters:  Abby, Emmy, and Sophy.  Scott loves spending time with his family at the beach, in the mountains, at Disney, and at home.

Carlos De Freitas
Student Minister

Carlos joined Macland Baptist in July of 2018 as Pastor of Student Ministries. He has a bachelor’s degree in International Business from IESB in Brasilia, Brazil; a Master of Divinity from Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary; and he is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership at Liberty University. Carlos has served in several churches throughout Arkansas. 

Carlos is responsible for students from 6th grade to young adults and their families. For those new to faith or actively involved in the church, Carlos is available for faith talks, personal Bible study, small group studies, or Bible training for small group leaders. Carlos is also available for questions about parenting teens or connecting with other teenagers. Carlos’ battle cry to students is, “Don’t waste your life playing church—be the church.”
